When In Doubt, Form a Task Force

Alzheimer\’s disease and dementia. Legal disputes involving the care of minors. Impediments to fair housing.

Those are some of the topics state lawmakers are considering forming task forces on to examine in greater detail.

On Tuesday, after nearly an hour of debate, the state House of Representatives approved yet another task force — this one on the feasibility of establishing a family medical leave insurance benefit. The measure now moves to the state Senate for consideration.

\”If anyone just looks at our…journal or at our calendar, the house calendar, you will see a tremendous amount of task forces,\’\’ said Rep. John Piscopo, R-Thomaston. \”This is going to go down as the year of the task force.\”

    Piscopo trots out the tired old ALEC (Koch Brothers’ funded) talking points. It is bad to study, gain knowledge and pass informed legislation. Trust the corporate lobbyists’ words for it alone.
