Eric M. Boone will head up the Hartford Parking Authority, replacing Mark McGovern, the authority announced late Thursday.
Boone worked previously as a senior project manager at Westinghouse Electric Company in Windsor, CT.
“Eric Boone has a remarkable combination of management experience and collaboration skills that will enable him to take this organization to the next level of continuous improvement,” Paddi LeShane, chairwoman of HPA’s board of commissioners, said. “His background is somewhat non-traditional in the parking business, but we were so impressed by his dynamic approach and how he’ll bring a strategic, global perspective to HPA.”
Carey E. Redd, who has served as the authority’s interim chief executive officer since June, will be an associate director, reporting to Boone, officials said.
Boone has a Master of Business Administration from Arizona State University and a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy. He served as a Navy lieutenant from 2002 to 2007.
McGovern, who had served as CEO of the parking authority since 2010, left to take a job as community services director for the town of West Hartford. He started in his new position July 1.
