A heads-up to late-night drivers who use the I-84 westbound on-ramp on Capitol Avenue: The state Department of Transportation plans to close it temporarily during the overnight hours of
Monday and Tuesday next week.
UPDATE: DOT says the closure is now scheduled for Thursday and Friday, Feb. 28.
According to the department, “the closure is required for the safe removal of an existing railroad bridge over the on-ramp, in connection with the construction of CTfastrak,” or the Hartford-to-New Britain busway.
The closure will occur between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. both nights. Drivers will be detoured to the I-84 entrance off Asylum S.
