At UHart, Obama To Push Gun Control

by Categorized: Uncategorized Tagged: , Date:

President Barack Obama will give a gun control speech this afternoon at the University of Hartford, four days after Gov. Dannel P. Malloy signed new legislation into law and ahead of the U.S. Senate’s debate on gun measures.

As Christine Dempsey reported, residents and commuters should expect delays from about 4 to 7 p.m.

For security reasons, the president’s exact path and times of travel have not been released. But major routes between Windsor Locksto the north and Hartford and West Hartford to the south will be affected.

Courant.com will stream the president’s speech live. Only invited guests and University of Hartford staff, faculty and students can attend the event in the Chase Family Arena. The university also plans to simulcast Obama’s remarks at various locations on campus.
