‘Speak Up’ Storytelling On Saturday

by Categorized: City Activities, Cultural Affairs, Events Date:

Need something to do this weekend? The new “Speak Up” storytelling series continues this Saturday night at Real Art Ways with free admission, alcohol and food for sale, and a lineup of storytellers who will tell a personal narrative on the theme “School: Lessons Taught and Lessons Learned.”

I’m told that Speak Up’s inaugural night in May, on the topic of “Beginnings,” was such a success that Real Art Ways is moving Saturday’s event to a bigger space.

The organizers are Matthew Dicks, a West Hartford schoolteacher and author, and his wife, Elysha. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the storytelling begins at 7:30 p.m.

Did we say it’s free admission? Real Art Ways is located at 56 Arbor Street, Hartford.
