This seems like kind of a bombshell.

Claiming that it’s only for “educational” purposes seems …unpersuasive. American Action seems pretty solidly political, not educational.

Obviously, they can do whatever they want, but, having grown up around here with a certain kind of Aetna, I find it hard to digest the idea that they’re going to be paying millions for virulent, shadowy anti-Obama, anti-Murphy, anti-Democrat-in-the-Fifth SuperPac ads.

Thanks for the link. I visited their web site and would describe them as a conservative think tank. They discuss the implications of the national debt and the Affordable Care Act. These are important issues facing us all, and I would characterize their work as an effort to educate us in their conservative viewpoint. Nothing there was in any way “virulent” or “shadowy”. If you believe Paul Krugman is best described as an economist, than this is an educational site.

4 of the leading 10 campaign contributors as listed by Open Secrets are the Public Sector Unions.

I find the unions use of advertising to web sites and bloggers that support their various positions under the guise of journalism, and contributions to other non-profits that are positioned to support them in areas like education or health care reform to be just as murky and self-serving.
