Mike Brown criticizing somebody else about disaster relief is like …like…Mike Brown criticizing somebody else about disaster relief.  It’s hard to think of a comparably glaring analogy.

I especially like this:

“Here’s my concern,” Brown told Denver’s Westword on Monday, suggesting that the official response was actually making people complacent. “It’s premature [when] the brunt of the storm won’t happen until later this afternoon.”

Do I have to say anything?

    I understand him. I really do :)

This works for Apple. You gotta keep the miniPad secret until the big Presser. Otherwise people get burnt out too quickly and feel a little less PANIC to get their order in. God only knows how much more successful Katrina could be with a little more panic and market contrived enthusiasm built in. Next time, withhold a little more information or forgo the disaster planning all together!

What’s next? “Mike Brown: The Steve Jobs of disaster relief”.

Tell us about Haiti Mike: “Okay. Donations to Haiti increased 20-fold after the 2010 earthquake. You can spend years of begging for aid to Haiti but nothing touches the human heart like an unannounced act of God. Look at Haiti today. It’s a testimoney to Foreign Aid. Sandy? Devestating to Haiti and its crops. The Aid? Maybe some tents will trickle in. Tracking Hurricanes will never replace an unannounced act of God. Un-preparedness is the key to getting a good response for Government Aid requests.”
