No means no
I should probably keep my nose out of this kerfuffle involving my former employer and my former time slot; but there’s a question nobody’s asking.
Why didn’t WTIC simply tell Rowland no? No, as in “No, you can’t work on a political campaign while you’re hosting a show.”
That would seem like a pretty easy thing to do.

Some individuals are teflon-coated, and Rowland is one of them. I find it positively incredulous that he is even on WTIC radio, home of the late, great Bob Steele whom I grew up listening to. CT residents of a certain age may remember that Steele’s son ran for governor of CT on the Republican ticket many moons ago, when Bob had the coveted a.m. drive time slot on WTIC that he held for decades, yet never once do I recall him talking about that fact on the air: NOT ONCE!
Now that Pastor Will, the rabid Rowland Republican sidekick is gone from the airwaves, it gives Dishonest John free reign on afternoon drive. I listen sporadically because I rely on the frequent traffic reports on WTIC, and Rowland’s constant political rantings even spill into the traffic reports, so until I can change the channel, I hear him. I understand that since “Pastor Will” has left, there is some kind of WTIC contest to re-name Rowland’s show, now that he is a solo act. I actually called in with my own new-name contribution – “Phone a Felon”, but I never got on the air with it, as most of Rowland’s rah-rah Republican supporters do. Gee… I wonder why?
You are 100% correct Colin, you should probably keep your nose out of this. It’s a full-blown case of sour grapes. Leave the Rowland bashing to a professional…Rick Green. Green, it seems, is unable to produce a blog without at least one anti-Rowland piece, per week… it’s pretty sad.
