That’s Michael Caine
I have mixed feelings about this movie, but this scene, in a restaurant, obviously improvised, is wonderful.

Micheal Cain and Steve Martin were awesome in Dirty Rotten Scondrels…loved Martin’s “Ruprecht” character. Too bad they never made a DRS II.

Colin, I’m not sure what your reservations are concerning “The Trip”, but I agree that this is a genuinely wonderful scene. Each does a more-than-passable Michael Caine, and yet they’re different. Makes me want to see the entire movie. I’m picking up a hint of “Sideways” in the blurbs… no?
I think that’s right.
More improvised than Sideways.
Actually I thought it was a bore. I was quite disappointed after the way you described it.
I think this one is much better: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fv3GxVeZ5Xc
