I would like to comment on the Courant’s website but don’t want to get a FB friend request from anyone by the name of McComma :/ so I’ll comment here. In case you’re reading over here, Mr. McComma: Danbury is a *federal* prison, for those convicted in federal courts by federal prosecutors of violating federal statutes. Most murder cases are prosecuted on the state level by state prosecutors in state courts and the convicted are sent to state prison. That is not to say there are no dangerous types in federal prison– think racketeering, etc. But generally, not many murderers, relatively speaking.

Thanks for mentioning the gifting club . They belong in jail. Poker Star Chris Jesus Ferguson calculated the odds correctly. Steal $50 million but do so in enough jurisdictions thar the Feds will be happy with a conviction and some fines. Make the Ponzi scheme structurally complicated and you are home free. The Feds can’t risk a trial with all the moving parts and jurisdictions.

I’m trying to imagine Boughtons winning platform. Then it occurred to me: he doesn’t have one. I think he’s angling for Lawlors job. Lawlor has his 3 years in.
