Cigna Corp. opened a new call center in the Pittsburgh, Pa., region with 100 new workers and 50 more that will be added by the end of the year.
The insurer is adding more customer service jobs to handle its increasing membership, the company said.
Cigna has major operations in Pittsburgh with about 1,500 employees in health coaching and case management in the company’s disability insurance division.
“Cigna’s investment in the Pittsburgh region stems from a great pool of talent who are well-suited to meet the needs of our customers and from our commitment to being part of a healthy and competitive marketplace in the region,” Julia Huggins, Cigna president for Pennsylvania operations, said in a statement.
Cigna has around-the-clock customer service to support its medical, dental and pharmacy customers, as well as clinicians in the company’s network.
Cigna also has call centers in Bourbonnais, Ill.; Scranton, Pa.; Visalia, Calif.; Denison, Texas; Chattanooga, Tenn.; and St. Louis, Mo.
Cigna is based in Bloomfield and has more than 4,100 employees in Connecticut.
