The Phoenix Cos. said Wednesday it won consent from bondholders, allowing the company to delay providing quarterly reports and a 2012 annual report to the bond trustee until the end of this year.
A federal lawsuit against The Phoenix Cos. claims that people who bought Phoenix securities between mid-2009 and late 2012 suffered losses because the company’s financial reports were based on false or misleading information — financial reports the company still has not restated.
The Phoenix Cos. postponed release of its third-quarter earnings as the company plans to restate financial results for 2009, 2010, 2011 and the first two quarters of this year.
Phoenix said it will file preliminary third-quarter results within two weeks. The company did not say which day it will release results.
