The U.S. Census is surveying nearly 30,000 households around the Northeast, has hired about 60 people to help with the work, and still needs 20 more.
The questions are for the American Housing Survey.
The workers will be paid between $13 and $13.50 an hour for the part-time jobs, which require mostly weekend and evening hours, and the jobs will end in September. The workers will knock on doors where residents didn’t answer the phone, or where the Census doesn’t have a phone number for them.
Workers are needed for routes in Hartford, Tolland, Litchfield, Windham and New London counties.
