Edible Arrangements To Offer Franchise Discount to Veterans

by Categorized: Uncategorized Date:

Edible Arrangements will offer veterans who want to open franchises a $10,000 discount on the $30,000 cost, the Wallingford-based firm announced Wednesday.

CEO Tariq Farid said he’s also donating $125,000 to the International Franchise Association’s Hero’s Welcome initiative and VetFran program.

The company also has set a goal of individual stores hiring 1,000 veterans nationwide.

“I know from personal experience within our own system that veterans bring an exceptional level of passion and discipline to their business,” Farid said. “I also know that they often face employment challenges once their service to their country is complete.”

Edible Arrangements stores sell chocolate-dipped fruit and fruit baskets designed to look like flower bouquets. There are more than 1,100 locations around the world.
