Every Recent Veteran Who Applies Can Get a Job at Wal-Mart

Wal-Mart, the second-largest employer in the country after the Department of Defense, is announcing today¬†that every veteran discharged honorably in the last year will have a guaranteed job with the nation’s largest retailer.

Those jobs could be sales associates jobs at either Wal-Mart or Sam’s Club, or warehousing jobs, or more advanced jobs. The company says the average wage for its full-time workers is $12.40 an hour.

The retail projects the promise will result in at least 100,000 veterans being hired over the next five years.
