Is Aerospace Engineering Low Stress?

by Categorized: Uncategorized Date:

Payscale.com recently wrote one of those click-bait list-cum-articles on five high-paying, low-stress jobs.

The numbers are off, because they use payscale’s unscientific data, rather than the much larger, broader survey done by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, but I was interested to see that aerospace engineers (called aeronautical engineers in payscale’s piece) were ranked No. 4.

The writer said: “Who wouldn’t feel inspired working on the wonder of flight every day? From lowering aircraft weight and fuel needs to improving safety, aeronautical engineers spend a lot of time rethinking and improving how we travel through the air.”

(Fyi, Aerospace engineers’ median salary last year was $103,720).

So you aerospace engineers out there, do you agree, is your job low-stress? Share your thoughts in the comments.
