Catherine Rampell at the New York Times Economix blog has an interesting post about flat wages in this job market where the balance of power is with employers.
She rightly notes that the complaint from employers that they can’t find skilled workers is not supported by the data. If there really was more work than workers to do it, they would be bidding up the wages of the candidates who are qualified.
She notes the two categories where raises were largest: truck drivers and college staff. Go to the link to get her thoughts on why.
