Landworks Realty, with offices in Farmington and Simsbury, has been acquired by one of the state’s largest real estate brokerages in the latest example of consolidation in the broker industry.
Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices New England Properties, an affiliate of Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway, has merged the operations of Landworks into its existing offices in Farmington and Simsbury.
Terms of the transaction weren’t disclosed.
Gary Emerito, who founded Landworks more than a decade ago, will remain with Berkshire and assume the role of director of new homes and land in addition to retaining his career in sales.
Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices entered Connecticut in 2012, purchasing Prudential Connecticut Realty. Prudential Connecticut took the Berkshire name last fall.
