Fallen Socialite Ruth Madoff Quietly Moves To Connecticut; Spotted Taking In The Trash Can
Ruth Madoff, the wife of notorious Ponzi-schemer Bernard Madoff, has relocated to a house in Old Greenwich provided by her surviving son from Boca Raton, Fla. where the fallen socialite had been living, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.
The Sun-Sentinel reports on a statement by Madoff on why she moved:

Ruth Madoff leaves a correctional facility in New York in 2009 after visiting her husband. File Photo.
In her statement, Madoff referred to the loss of her son Mark, who committed suicide, and the difficulty in coming to terms with the ill deeds of her husband of more than 50 years. Bernard Madoff is now serving 150 years in prison for a scam that ruined thousands of investors, including many Palm Beach County friends and acquaintances.
“Despite this,” she said in her statement, “I’ve chosen to move forward with my life and focus on my remaining family, particularly my grandchildren.”
The New York Daily News first reported Madoff’s move this week. Read the Daily News story here.
