Hearings On XL Center Lease, Morgan Street Garage Sale Moved To May

by Categorized: Uncategorized Date:

A lease of the XL Center and a sale of the Morgan Street garage to the state would bring much-needed revenue to the financially-strapped city of Hartford.

But public hearings originally scheduled for April 15 are being pushed to May 20 by the city council.

The reason? State statutes require that notices of public hearings involving  the sale, lease or transfer of real estate owned by a town or city need to be published “not more than 15 days or less than 10 days of the hearing date,” according to the city clerk’s office in Hartford.
