As predicted in The Haar Report just after midnight, U.S. job gains fell below 100,000 and the unemployment rate ticked down, according to the Labor Department’s report for August.

So I ask again, Did Obama pull back from the Democrats’ argument that jobs are coming back consistently, through too slowly, because he knew in advance the job-creation news was bad?  Presidents do get a heads-up on job reports according to a story on NPR earlier this year, so it’s not out of the question.

Obama’s advance text referred to the economy creating half a million manufacturing jobs over the last 2 1/2 years, but otherwise talked about jobs only in general or future terms.

I predicted a gain of 78,000 jobs for August, and unemployment ticking down to 8.2 percent from 8.3 percent, compared with a consensus forecast among economists of 125,000 jobs and no change in the unemployment rate.  The job gain was 96,000 for August and the July figure was revised downward by 22,000. And the unemployment rate fell by two ticks, to 8.1 percent as thousands of people stopped looking.

The employment classifieds over the web are similar to the traditional newspaper classifieds except for some points that make them even better. Firstly, the online classifieds can be posted for free and secondly they have a wider reach as they are accessible to all the Internet users, that too, 24 x 7.
