And finally, what is Hartford’s social scene without Real Art Ways annual “The Odd Ball?”

And this year, there was a kicker because the crazy party was moved from spring to the pre-Halloween weekend.

So Java’s “All Hallows’ Eve Best and Beyond” award goes to Will K. Wilkins and his Arbor Street arts center, that once again proves there should be no limit on your  imagination when it comes to getting your costume on.

Among the veteran revelers at this year’s event was Bloomfield resident Judith Mourad, who was enjoying some of the very tempting appetizers as she channeled her “inner countess.”

“I am originally from Hungary” said the mysterious masked lady in silver lame. “I came to this a couple of years ago and I love it because it is so different from any other party I have gone to.”

An honorable mention for interesting libations there, as well. Republic from Bloomfield had me as soon as I walked in the door and was handed one of its “bourbon slushies,” created by potion wizards on a set-up that put any traditional chem lab to shame.

(And it’s now official. My cramped, tilted feet have hit the wall. I am walking sans stilettos. It’s a costume gala anyway, who will even notice!)
