CRIS Needs Support In ‘Tom’s’ Contest

The Windsor-based  non-profit that provides services to the blind and visually impaired has been chosen as the Connecticut finalist in the Tom’s of Maine  ’50 States for Good’ contest.

50 States for Good is the personal care product company’s  national initiative to help grassroots community projects. It is an online contest with one organization from each state vying for one of 15, $10,000 funding prizes.  

 “CRIS was selected among 1,000 applicants and is the ONLY Connecticut nonprofit in the running,” notes CRIS executive director Diane Weaver Dunne, asking supporters to go here to cast their online ballot. Voting continues through Oct. 15.
