Dr. Mel To Be Honored In East Haven

He was everybody’s favorite and those who knew former WTNH chief meteorologist Dr. Mel Goldstein, were well aware of how much he loved the beach.

 On Monday at 10:00 am, East Haven Mayor Joseph Maturo, Jr. will host a brief ceremony unveiling a memorial bench in honor of  the late weatherman who died in January after a 16-year battle with cancer.

The bench was donated to the Town by Dr Mel’s widow, Arlene Goldstein and was placed at the East Haven Town Beach in close proximity to the Town “Beach House,” according to the mayor’s office.
