Former Plainville Town Manager Passes Away

For those who have lived in Plainville a while, some sad news.

Former town manager Bob Hutchinson, who lived in Mashpee, Massachusetts,  passed away Sunday.

The Boston native and former U.S.Marine served as manager in Plainville from 1971 to 1976 before accepting a similar position in Lexington, Massachusetts. He went on to  head several state agencies in that state.

While in Plainville he was credited with spearheading several new initiatives including major sewer installations, a new municipal center, a senior center and an expanded recreation program. He and his family, including wife, Debby, were very active members of the community.
