Goodspeed Committee List A Red Carpet Dream

The reality is you know they are not all really coming, because, after all,  it is an “honorary committee.” Translation:  the names are on the list but attendance at the actual party? Probably not.

But the Goodspeed’s invitation for its upcoming 11th Annual Gala still had Java reading the list twice and crossing her fingers.  It’s pretty impressive.

The guest of honor, Emmy and Tony Award winner Kristin Chenoweth will certainly be attending the gala on Aug. 11 where she will receive the theater’s “Outstanding Contribution to Musical Theater” award.

And on the star-studded, red carpet worthy,  honorary committee list, lots of celebs she has worked with during her stage, movie and television career.

Among them, Matthew Broderick, whose wife, Sarah Jessica Parker, was at the party honoring “Annie” creators last year, Danny DeVito, Hugh Jackman, Bette Midler, Dolly Parton, Annie Potts and Kristen Bell. Other celebs include Sean Hayes, Matthew Morrison, Susan Stroman and Allison Janney. Playwright, producer and screenwriter Nora Ephron, who died in June, was also part of the committee.

The evening will also include the presentation of the first Goodspeed Arts & Business Partnership Award to the Hoffman Auto Group.

Proceeds from the gala (tickets range from $500 a person to $25,000 for a table for 10)  at The Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station benefit the theater’s educational programs. Information: goodspeed.org
