Java Cake Update
In an effort to string a previous blog and upcoming National Dessert Month together, think a cup of Java with something sweet and with celebrity to go along with it.And because you have asked:
Pepperidge Farms, which began as a small, family farm business in Fairfield in 1937 thanks to Margaret Rudkin, is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year.
And as part of the celebration it has developed a new cake based on its to-die-for (for me anyway) Milano cookies.
While some may argue the new product is short on cookies ,(I don’t) the point is I thought the cake was awesome as far as frozen cakes go. Still trying to find out where we can find them in the Hartford area but working on it!
And that brings us to Sara Lee. I have had the good fortune (and so have a couple
of community soup kitchens and co-workers) to sample its new cake offerings, updated versions of its butter pound cake and a lemon pound cake, all part of its October celebration of National Dessert Month. The new offerings also include a new reduced fat pound cake and pound cake slices.
Enjoy!
