LUPA Names 2012 “Top 50″ Latinos”

A FoxCt show host  and a Hartford Courant reporter have been named to the Latinos for Professional Advancement (LUPA) “50 Most Influential Latinos in the Greater Hartford Area” list for 2012.

Laurie Perez, co-host of “The Real Story” and Hartford reporter Vanessa de la Torre are among those who have been included on LUPA’s first annual list.

The list includes Latinos from various ethnic backgrounds, various ages, those in the private and public sector, musicians, military, media nonprofit organizations and business owners.

Others on the list include Marilyn Alverio, founder and producer of the Latinos in Power Symposium, well-known musician Ray Gonzalez, Hartford Supt. of Schools Christina Kishimoto, Hartford Mayor Pedro Segarra, and Universal Health Foundation president, Frances Padilla. Also author and poet Bessy Reyna,  Capital Community College president, Wilfredo Nieves, Hartford Foundation for Public Giving officer, Pete Rosa and Joe Rodriguez, outreach aid to U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal.
