Six well-known Hartford area women officially received the good news Wednesday night. They are the Malta House’s 2014 “Wonder Women” honorees. The six were introduced at an announcement reception at the Town & County Club. They will officially be honored at a reception at the Bushnell on May 6.
They are Hartford Stage board president and marketing business owner, Jill Adams, Central Area Health Education Center program manager, Eliana Cardeno, civic volunteer Ranjana Chawla, philanthropist and founder/president of Ann Howard Restaurant Associates, Ann Howard, University of Saint Joseph president, Pamela Trotman Reid and espnW vice president, Carol Stiff .
“I just do what I do,” said Chawla, a board member on the St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center Auxiliary, Saint Francis Foundation, and Riverfront Recapture, and active in several organizations including the American Red Cross and Leadership Greater Hartford. “I don’t see it as special, it is just who I am,” she said about her many altruistic ventures.
Hartford’s Malta House provides mobile primary medical care to those who have no insurance.
