Marvin Hamlisch Had Hartford Connections
So sad to hear of Marvin Hamlisch’s passing,http://cour.at/PD3kbn especially since he and Java crossed paths a couple of times in the last few years. One of the most recent was in 2010 when he came to Connecticut to perform with the Hartford Symphony Orchestra. The event included a pre-performance reception at The Pond House where he was reunited with an old high school girlfriend, West Hartford resident,Frankie Goldfarb. http://bit.ly/O2MF3u
He was such fun, reminding her that she inspired one of his first songs, “Francine, Francine.”
