meyers2So where does a  writer, comic, actor, producer and new late night show host dine a week before he makes the big move onto his new show?

Connecticut of course!

That’s what happened when Seth Meyers, slated to debut on “Late Night With Seth Meyers” on Feb. 24 ,  and his bride, human rights lawyer Alexi Ashe,  strolled into the tony West Street Grill in Litchfield for dinner Saturday.

“James was the one who recognized him, said Charlie Kafferman, referring to his partner and restaurant co-owner James O’Shea. “The reservation was under Alexi’s name so we didn’t know they were coming in,” Kafferman reported. “But we had a pretty young crowd here that night and some people started applauding when they realized who he was.” he continued. “He and his wife couldn’t have been nicer.”

The couple, according to Kafferman,  were apparently the weekend guests of NBC exec Dick Ebersol and his wife, actress Susan St. James, who live in Litchfield.

Myers is taking over Late Night Show host duties from Jimmy Fallon who is the new host of NBC’s “The Tonight Show. “
