It is St. Patrick’s Day Parade Day Saturday in Hartford and restaurants are getting creative when it comes to making it a day of “saint celebration,” and getting the party started long before the 11 a.m. parade step-off time.
Among the recent additions to the long list of specials of the day is “Kegs and Eggs” at Vaughan’s in downtown Hartford beginning at 8 a.m. and at Hot Tomato’s at Union Station in Hartford beginning at 8:30 a.m. And of course, “keg” offerings, well I am sure you get the idea.

And remember, on Saturday, as far as Hartford is concerned, everyone is Irish!
It may seem like St. Patrick’s Day is way off but Hartford’s 42nd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee is getting everything nailed down for the March 9 parade here, including naming its honorees.
Jim Mulcahy has been named “Grand Marshal” of the parade and FoxCt, Hartford Courant, CT1 Media head, Rich Graziano, has been tapped as “Person of the Year.”
Participating communities have also named their honorees for the upcoming parade. Hartford’s 2013 honorees will be Sister Judy Carey and Johnny Vaughan.
The Hartford delegation will hold a fundraiser on Jan. 27 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Damon’s Tavern, 310 Prospect Ave., Hartford.
The parade is sponsored by Central Connecticut Celtic Cultural Committee.
