Right up there with Newport, Grafton, Camden, Falmouth and Woodstock, Wethersfield has made it onto the ”24 Small New England Towns You Absolutely Must See” list compiled by the online site, buzzfeed.com.
The site recommends Village Pizza and Lucky Lou’s for food and the Silas W. Robbins House Bed and Breakfast for lodging.
Also making the list from Connecticut is the town of Guilford.

The Wethersfield Carmen Anthony’s Fishhouse, the landmark steak and fishhouse on the Berlin Turnpike, has closed.
Owner Carmen Vacalebre said he closed it Saturday night after struggling for three years to keep the location open.
“For the sake of my other employees and my other restaurants I had to make the tough decision to close Wethersfield,” said Vacalebre, who also owns Carmen Anthony restaurants in New Haven, Waterbury and Woodbury which remain open. “We are an upscale restaurant and between the economic downturn several years ago and weather and some other factors, it was the perfect storm.”
The 13-year-old, 9,600-square-foot award-winning restaurant has been a well-known spot for fine dining, as well as parties and special events over the years. It was also a favorite gathering place for politicians from Hartford and surrounding towns.
Vacalebre, who owns the two-and-a-quarter acre property at 1770 Berlin Turnpike, said he has officially put it up for sale.
Valcalebre said he has offered the 34 employees the opportunity to apply for jobs at his other locations.
He also notes gift certificates will be honored at his other restaurants, he said.
Vacalebre sold the assets of his Carmen Anthony restaurant in Avon a little more than a year ago. The Grist Mill restaurant is now located there.
