It’s a bummer when the guest of honor is a no-show but the party will go on at the Goodspeed this Saturday.
Kristen Chenoweth, who was to be the guest of honor at Saturday’s gala at The Riverhouse, is still recovering from a nasty head injury she received while on the set of The Good Wife and will not be attending as planned.
This from the Goodspeed:
“At this time, we regret to inform you that, due to her recent injuries on the set of “The Good Wife,” Kristin Chenoweth will sadly not be able to attend our gala, as she is at home recuperating. However, our show will go on as planned, with Broadway, film, and television star Alan Cumming accepting the award in her absence and a Special Tribute Performance by Tony- and Grammy-nominated composer Andrew Lippa.
Goodspeed Musicals will proudly honor the incomparable Kristin Chenoweth for her tremendous contributions to musical theatre. Actor and friend Alan Cumming will accept the The Goodspeed Award for Outstanding Contribution to Musical Theatre on her behalf in recognition of her extraordinary career. Also that evening, Goodspeed Musicals will proudly honor the Hoffman Auto Group. They will receive the inaugural Goodspeed Musicals Arts & Business Partnership Award - an honor bestowed upon a prominent member of the Connecticut business community who has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to the arts and culture.”
So while she may not be there, others will and of course that means the other guests of honor, the Hoffmans, who are expected to be willing and able to accept the special partnership award. And the party will go on.
