TV Pioneer Kitty Broman Passes Away

kittySome sad news. For those of you in our western Massachusetts audience. Kathryn “Kitty” Broman, nicknamed the “First Lady of Television,” passed away Sunday.

Broman, who was 97, was best known for her programs in the 1950s and 1960s,  “At Home with Kitty,” a lifestyle show which then became  “Kitty Today” and  “22 Alive”  on WWLP 22.

Broman was not only a co-founder of the Springfield NBC affiliate station but was also the first woman to serve on the board of directors of the National Association of Broadcasters.
