Jenna Iacono HeadshotThink spunky and high energy and you will think of two young ladies, 10-year-old Jenna Iacono of Woodbury and the her alter ego, Libby Light Sprite, a new Nickelodeon Channel show character who will be making her debut on Monday.

Iacono is the voice behind Libby who, with Wally Trollman, Norville, Bobgoblin and Gina Giant, are the featured characters in the kid’s channel’s new show, Wallykazam!, premiering Monday at 1 p.m. EST. The animated literacy series aimed at pre-schoolers, entertains and teaches letters and words with Wally and his friends providing the comical story line. They are joined by celebrity guests, who in the first season, include well-known Connecticut celebrity and former “Seinfeld” star, John O’ Hurley.

But it was Jenna who was center stage recently and the veteran actress, who loves pizza, hiking, playing tennis, reading and her cat July, was relaxed, enthusiastic, polite and cute as can be as she Spilled the Beans with Java.

Q: What other work have you done and how did you get the new job on Wallykazam!?

A: I auditioned for Nickelodeon in New York with my acting coach. I have been doing theater for six years and voiceovers for three years. I have been in commercials and played Molly in “Annie” at the Seven Angels Regional Theatre in Waterbury, was in “A Little Game” with Ralph Maccio, and played Cindy Lou Who in Broadway’s national tour of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.” I have done the voiceovers for Dora the Explorer and am the voice of Cottontail in Nickelodeon’s “Peter Rabbit” series.

Q: What do you want to be when you grow up?

A: I hope to do voiceovers on the big screen in movies like “Frozen.” I loved that movie.

Libby Light SpriteQ: Is Libby more like you or are you more like Libby?

A: I am more like her. I like to play, I have high energy, I like to perform. If she were real she would absolutely be my best friend.

Q: How do you balance your career and school and what do your friends think of your celebrity?

A: I am home-schooled so I can get to auditions and work. I have two best friends, and they definitely know what I do. My best friend in Connecticut is Eva and my best friend in New York is Amelia.

Q: What is the best part of show business and what is the worst part?

A: The best part is performing in front of people. I love doing that. The worst part is driving to New York City twice a week.

Q: Where will you watch the first show on Monday?

A: There is a big premiere party at Nickelodeon and I will go with my mom and dad and talent manager.

Q: What will you wear?

A: A green dress like Libby’s.

Q: What television shows do you like to watch?

A: Anything on Nickelodeon but my favorite is “Sponge Bob.”

Q: Why should kids watch Wallykazam!?

A: I think they will like the adventures and the silliness.

Q: What is something people don’t know about you?

A: People know a lot about me but I guess that my favorite thing in the world is sushi.
