HARTFORD – February 13, 2012 – Employees of the House of Flora were busily packaging 3,000 long-stem-red roses into half and full dozen bundles in anticipation of Valentines day on rush on Tuesday. Victor Borrero, of Hartford, delivers more roses to a make-shift rose assembly line in the basement of the New Britain Ave. florist. Borrero and a co-worker pruned blemished petals off the roses to sell separately, before packaging them. RICHARD MESSINA | rmessina@courant.com
