2013.05.16 – Old Saybrook, CT – Lighthouses, like greenhouses, are appreciated largely in spring and summer when we return to the outdoors and enjoy gardens and beaches alike. Lighthouses are part of New England’s iconography, like maple syrup, foliage and rocky beaches. The Breakwater Light is not open to the public. Photo by JOHN WOIKE | woike@courant.com
