Old State House New

When the top of Hartford’s Old State House is unwrapped, possibly this month, the cupola and gold dome will be gleaming like new after undergoing a painstaking restoration.

With the top of the historic Old State House covered with scaffolding and blue netting, workmen from the Kronenberger & Sons Restoration company continue the restoration process of the cupola and dome from the roof line up. The distinctive dome is having new gold leaf applied as the Lady Justice stands watch above.

The Travelers tower, another Hartford icon, is also covered with scaffolding one block away and is undergoing extensive restoration.

The Travelers Tower, an icon of Hartford's skyline, is completed covered with a complex maze of scaffoldiong as workmen continue with the restoration of the venerable building.
