La Vie en Rose

2013.11.08 - Hartford,Ct - Victoria Cattel, 54, of West Hartford, prunes some of the 15,000 rose bushes inside Elizabeth Park's Rose Garden. Cattel, a Cigna tax accountant, and over a dozen her Cigna workmates, volunteered to help prepare the garden for winter. Cattel, who laces pink coloring through her hair and is a grandmother of three says she dyes her hair this way because, "Grandma tax accountants don't want to be boring." The process of putting the garden "to bed," according to Elizabeth Park Conservancy gardener Doug Clifford, involves cutting the bushes down to reduce damage from snow and will be complete next weekend.
