The Fifth Archbishop of Hartford

Monday’s installation Mass of Leonard P. Blair as the fifth archbishop of the Archdiocese of Hartford at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph on Farmington Avenue in Hartford. The archdiocese said it expected 2,000 people to attend. The Vatican announced Blair’s appointment Oct. 29. He succeeds Archbishop Henry J. Mansell, who, at 76, is past the standard retirement age for bishops. Blair, 64, a Detroit native, had been bishop of the Diocese of Toledo, Ohio, since 2003.
