Brian Aselton Snow Dash

The 22nd annual Officer Brian Aselton Snow Dash was held in East Hartford Sunday, honoring the officer who gave his live in the line of duty Jan. 22, 1999. The East Hartford Parks and Recreation Department and the Police Department sponsored the event.

Winner Adam Bulewich of Windsor heads for the finish line at the 22nd annual Officer Brian A. Aselton Memorial Snow Dash 5K Road Race sponsored by the East Hartford Parks and Recreation Department and the East Hartford Police Department Sunday in East Hartford.  His time was 17:39. Approximately 350 runners were expected to participate in the race that is run in tribute to Officer Brian A. Aselton, who was killed in the line of duty Jan. 23, 1999. The road race, which began in 1993,  was renamed in his honor after his death. Proceeds from the race benefit the Officer Brian A. Aselton Memorial Scholarship Fund and the East Hartford Police Child Safety and Crime Prevention programs.  In 2013, $6,928 was raised with $3,464 going to each fund.
