Thanks to Twitter, we know that festivals in West Hartford, Bridgeport and Wilton were the place to be.

Chris Shays went trolling for votes at Celebrate West Hartford, where he ran into 1st District sacrificial lamb GOP candidate John Decker.  He also found time to hug an alien doll.

His Republican rival Linda McMahon, relaxing on a fat 29 point lead in the latest Q Poll, was reaching out to future voters at Georgetown Fest down in Wilton.

Democrat Chris Murphy, meanwhile, shared a joke with Mayor Scott Slifka at Celebrate West Harford. Murphy tweeted that enthusiastic Team Linda disciples tried to “sticker him” three different times.

Earlier in the day, Murph grabbed the kid prop and joined Jim Himes, at Bridgeport’s Black Rock Park Day.

Shays and Himes also made it to the Portuguese Day parade in Bridgeport, where they were joined by Mayor Bill Finch.

Republican Mark Greenberg, running in the pack of GOP candidates in the 5th, started his day at the Warren Volunteer Fire Department’s pancake breakfast. Looks like loads of fun! The resurgent Chris Donovan, running for his political life in the 5th, wasn’t sharing on Sunday. On Saturday, however, he gathered with his union peeps at the AFSCME picnic in New Britain. Here’s an awkward thumbs up, Mr Speaker!

Here’s Lisa Wilson-Foley at the Greek Festival in Danbury with a you-got-a-problem-with-me supporter.

Himes, meanwhile, tweeted a pic of what gets him started before a day of waving and baby-kissing:

One Response to Candidate Roundup: Where Were They Today?

  1. Richard says:

    I love Donovan at AFSCME.

Who’s that next to him? “No Sustinet for us ever!” Lucky Luciano?

Posing with Loftus-Levine and/or Sharon Palmer underneath a “Governor’s Race to the Bottom” funding banner and it would be a perfect day.

Maybe sink a few taxpayers in the dunkin booth throwing NEA-approved apples.
