Thursday at noon at the University of Connecticut, in the first of two planned debates with fellow Republican Linda McMahon, Shays has what could be a final chance to prove he can make a race of it.

It’s Bysiewicz’s slot to lose. The Democrats will nominate Ned Lamont forcing McMahon opponents to step in and push for a third party run.
Shays is on a farewell tour. A nostlagia trip. A last tour before taking his pension check to a more liveable state.
Watching 2 minutes of Larry Hagman on the Dallas remake delivering his lines was painful. Slow, halting, forced–Hagman was physically over-matched by the demands of his job. It was unwatchable. Sad, much like Kate Hepburn in her later years.
This debate could be similar.
