• Kevin Rennie reports, without attribution, that our felonious ex-Gov is under investigation again:

A federal criminal grand jury has been investigating the connection between former Governor John G. Rowland’s campaign activities and his private consulting work …

  • The Donovan campaign’s own internal investigation into the the fundraising scandal that led to the arrest of a former campaign finance director should be completed this week. Former U.S. Attorney Stanley Twardy was hired to head up the probe by the campaign. No word on whether that will be publicly released by the campaign.
  • Dan Roberti, the young Democrat from Kent, will hold a press conference in Famington Tuesday to once again remind voters that frontrunner Chris Donovan’s campaign has been under federal investigation for violating campaign contribution laws. His campaign reports Roberti will:

… discuss ethical considerations in campaign financing. He will also propose specific ethics reforms to curb the influence of special interests on fund-raising for political campaigns.

  • Last week’s union protest at Rowland’s radio home, WTIC-1080, was only good for ratings. This latest story, if true, is something completely different. Another Rowland corruption scandal may make the former governor too hot for WTIC to handle.

  1. Todd Zaino says:

    Another Rowland story…oh swell
Rick once again going to that well
    Another Rowland repeat
    Rick’s week is now complete
Don’t you have any other news to tell

  2. Richard says:

If Rowland is cleared by the Feds CT Democrats will gnash their teeth and beat their breasts and wail like banshees.

“Rowland Innocent” the above-the-fold headlines will blare. It will be a sad day indeed for Democrats.

  3. Todd Zaino says:

Another story that’s been cut and paste
Nothing new here a complete waste
    Old news keeps giving
    Rick’s making a living
How about someone new to lambaste

  4. Todd Zaino says:

Why is Donovan suddenly old news
Rowland’s success giving McEnroe the blues
    WTIC has struck radio gold
    This story is beyond old
Never gets old seeing Rick and Colin blow a fuse

  5. Moron Detector says:

At least the first of the FEC complaints was dismissed without cause. Ken Krayeske is a complete jerk! http://ct5thdistrict.registercitizen.com/2012/06/20/federal-communications-commission-wont-investigate-complaint-against-former-gov-john-rowland/

  6. Daniel Gregor says:

Todd has it absolutelty correct, this is meant to distract from the Donovan scandal, as well as doing whatever they want to sell newspapers.
Conn. readers deserve more than this from this desperate media outlet.

  7. R.L. says:

Now they need to start investigating the education “reformers”. They can begin with Vallas and Adamowski. That should keep them busy for quite a while. Malloy seems to be up to his elbows in it. They can then work their way to the federal culprits. While they’re at it they can expose Rhee for what she is, a con-artist who makes her money at the expense of public education. They may want to look into her lobbying activities here in Connecticut.
