CTSen Update on Debate: Tong, Bysiewicz Ready To Throw Down
Responding to Chris Murphy’s call for 8 debates — four before the state Democratic convention and four after and before the primary, William Tong and Susan Bysiewicz said they can’t wait. In fact, Bysiewicz said might like even more than 8.
Marc Bradley, campaign manager for Team Tong said he was glad Murphy responded to William Tong’s month-old proposal for debates:
We’re thrilled … William’s personal story, message, professional and legislative success make him the strongest candidate in this race … People are tired of Washington gridlock. Folks in this state are hurting and they’re exhausted by the same cast of characters who can’t seem to get anything done. We look forward to the debates and to a robust discussion about how Chris has spent his last five years in Washington. We know William has the best plan to reclaim the American Dream in Connecticut, and we’re excited to share his vision with the voters of this state.
Jonathan Ducote of the Bysiewicz campaign, said they are willing and ready to pounce:
Susan believes that there should be as many debates as possible between now and the primary. There are real policy differences between the candidates and their records for standing up for the middle class. We hope that media outlets throughout the state will consider hosting a debate so their reader or viewership can see these differences.

Debates don’t matter unless lots of voters watch them!
I hope Tong and Bysiewicz ask Murphy why he voted against tapping the phone lines of suspect terrorists.
Murphy and gang of sycophants love to invade the local Stop and Shop where I live. He sets up a few chairs and takes questions from the unwashed masses of Farmington Valley. My 70 year old father once tried to ask Chris a few tough questions and he was quickly whisked away from the Murphy love-fest.
Shoppers of the Unionville Stop & Shop should not have walk past Murphy’s BS sitdown to get a carton of ice cream.
Anyone who can’t give a tax-paying 70 year man an honest answer to simple questions is not fit to serve.
I can not believe that the fine people of the State of COnnecticut would even think about voting for Susan B.
Ahhh, I can hear the debate now, We Dems need to stick together, I want to increase the unearned income credit to more than the $1,700 we give now….were redistributing wealth the Dems way…lets do more, Tax those hard working rich people, the 52% that pay taxes!…they work hard and they don’t mind as we tax more and more to give money to the 48% that pay no taxes. Dannel we will get you more money to waste on a bus to nowhere, to spend $1 million per job at the non profit Jackson Labs, spend $235,000 per job at CIGNA….spend on Dannel spend on.
Susie says ” I won, I counted the votes….it is a landslide – I won, no wait a minute, lets count again, maybe I won, I’ll let you know in a week or two…..Oh wait, you haven’t voted yet!” Bridgeport part 2.
