For a guy who doesn’t return phone calls, it’s a positive sign that Hartford Interim Police Chief James Rovella will be available tonight starting at 8 at City Hall to meet with city residents and reporters who want to talk. He will be joined by Mayor Pedro Segarra. He wasn’t so chatty after the 10 shootings around the city last weekend that left two young men dead.

If you would like to set up an appointment for a more private conversation, call Jared Kupiec, Chief of Staff and Acting Director of Communications and New Media, at 860-692-2711.

One Response to Hartford’s Top Cop Decides To Talk

It really grinds my gears when people expect department heads to return each and every phone call they get. Working for a city with over 120,000 residents, and several thousand more people in and out of the city each day, do you really want the (then Interim) Chief of Police returning phone calls all day? Or do you want him doing his job? Same thing for other, similar, positions. Their jobs are not to return phone calls all day. They have specific tasks to do.
