It’s just a wide shoulder. A proper Bike Lane would be maintained and kept clear of glass, leaves, debris, snow and sewer grates. We shall see. In the absence of a lane or sign announcing the presence of bikes are motorists to assume the coast is clear and there wil be NO bikes? I guess we can’t just count on them using their eyes and effectively dealing with whatever is actually there.
