Will a Fastrak be more popular than a Busway?
The infamous $567 million busway has a ceremonial groundbreaking today at the corner of Francis Avenue and Park Street in Hartford. It is now called CT Fastrak, which sounds more European than revolutionary.
Here’s a promotional video from the Busway Fastrak folks at the state DOT:

Why not take the $567 million and buy all of the legal residents of New Britain and Hartford a new car? Think of the multiplier effect and how this can jumpstart CT’s economy! Car dealerships would see a brisk business, gas stations would have a larger demand, tire and repair shops would have more traffic. Hartford and NB could then hit the residents with a nice CT-style property tax! While we are redistributing the money the state should make sure that the cars are all high-end luxury models. Fill I 84 with a sea of BMWs, Merceedes, and why a few hundred more Lexuses while we are at it.
I am guessing at half of $567 million Malloy can then state “CT, still revolutionary, and now really open for business!”
Unreal! Liberal policies have failed all over the world…nice to think that CT has a different plan…expecting a different outcome.
“It’s not a busway; its a colossal waste of taxpayer dollars.”
This will go down as one of the biggest failures in Connecticut. At a time when we can’t even balance our state budget, we urinate away $500B we don’t have for a project like this? Its beyond pathetic.
Remember this massive waste in November and send a message to out of control tax and spend liberals.
Jimbo,
It’s as if the leftists in this state want to see just how much they can get away with regarding this $567 million!
I think this is going to be the second biggest failure in our state’s history…the biggest would have to be Malloy!
