The Donovan campaign explains to supporters that the Republicans are behind all this. A recent letter to Donovan campaign supporters:
The National Republican Congressional Committee attacked Chris recently for asking having his campaign manager manage his campaign. Yes, really. DC Republicans know that Chris is the candidate in this race who is fighting for the 99% of us who work to put food on the table, while their candidates are more interested in destroying Medicare, privatizing Social Security, denying contraception, and giving tax breaks to millionaires and billionaires.
Tell DC Republicans that you stand with Chris!
DC Republicans are playing politics with a serious matter, but that shouldn’t surprise us – they have been doing it for years. They don’t want Chris in Congress because he has been fighting for the working families of Connecticut for his entire career. They know Chris stands up for a minimum wage for working families, supports universal health care, and will fight the big corporate interests and Wall Street CEOs that tanked our economy. They know he’s the one candidate in the Democratic primary that will always stand up for our values and never stop fighting for us.
Stand with Chris and let the DC Republicans that they don’t get a vote in this election.
We can expect more of the same type of political attacks on Chris from the Republicans and, sadly, maybe even some Democrats using the Republicans’ lines, so now more than ever we need to rally around our campaign to make sure the 5th District is represented by someone who will never back away from a tough fight, and never waver on the progressive values we all share. Click here to stand with the only Progressive champion in this race today.

Chris Donovan for Congress

Republicans are being far from mean
Donovan’s wink and nod
are far from clean
Unions punks belly up to the bar
Caught with their hand in the cookie jar
Dirtiest election that I’ve ever seen
Taking a page out of the Barack Oblamer handbook, the Donovan campaign is going into parallel universe mode by denying anything’s wrong and blaming….wait for it….the Republicans.
Earth to Rick: This was a Federal investigation of Donovan’s campaign. Try again.
Unions Rick and Colon controlling the spin
Hoping that Dirty Donovan can pull out a win
Unions are no longer a must
So darn dirty and impossible to trust
What they do is a travesty and sin
Donovan wasn’t effective in getting health care to the private sector or increasing the minimum wage or ending CT pension abuses.
When push comes to shove Chris folds like a cheap suit on those issues and parties with “No SustiNet for AFSCME” Lucianio rather than denouncing him like a dog. With the “Race to the Top” funds available it was all hands on deck to protect the teachers union not the taxpayers.
In DC some Democrats have seen the light including Dick Blumenthal in supporting the “21st Century Works Progress Administration” of U.S. Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ).
Even that bill is a bit myopic and thinks too small and in terms of public safety rather than thinking in terms of hiring for creation of a National Medical Records System, flooding home health care and re-education, and concentrating on truly great and productive initiatives that are labor intensive.
At least Lautenberg is addressing Obama shovel-ready stimulus projects that spent far too much on state union analysis, design, and oversight and on materials and far too little on labor.
There’s another bill for from Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D-OH) the 21st Century Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) for tree planting, environmental and urban renewal via labor. States would budget materials. Urban gardens, cleaned up lots, tear down of blighted buildings, Habitat for Humanity types of projects, etc.
Would Donovan support such legislation without destroying it to create AFSCME Union Vig? History says no. Such thinking would be beyond Chris Donovan. No union vig? Haaah.
O RLY??? An Obama administration and an Obama FBI conducting this investigation; hardly “Republican”. Only hysterical, partisan democrats would believe such nonsense…then again, fools will part with their money rather quickly to fund his campaign.
Can you imagine if Washington funneled that WPA/CCC money to the CT State Legislature?
Anything having to do with school systems would require the approval of Loftus-Levine and Sharon Palmer or AFSCME (building maintenance). Donovan, Williams, and Fleischman would whimper in a corner for 9 to 12 months until Loftus-Levine and Sharon Palmer produced a plan for them to vote on. There would be enough skim created that CT would have the highest cost per job in the nation and create the fewest jobs. DOL couldn’t even offer job training without the unions hunkering down to get their vig from their trained pooches.
What we need are politicians who take one look at Loftus Levin and Palmer and send them packing and tell them they are going to spend the money they way they see fit to benefit the taxpayers.
And put Sal Luciano on SustiNet. Today.
This is the most absurd email I have ever read! He’s trying to blame DC Republicans for his campaign being so dirty the FBI arrested his campaign manager?
This guy will fit in well with Obama! I’m surprised he didn’t blame his troubles on Bush 43!
